St. Jude Dream Home 2013 open daily through June 22
The 2013 St. Jude Dream Home is open daily now through June 22. It will be given away on June 23. Tickets are now on sale for the 2013 St. Jude Dream Home campaign in Middle Tennessee. The house, built by Hillside Homes is in The Highlands at Ladd park in South Franklin.
The home is open to the public from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. through June 22.
Ladd Park features two miles of Harpeth River frontage, 240 acres of open space connected by more than 10 miles of trails. A 150-acre park along the river will protect the environment surrounding the river. Ladd Park was recently listed by Metrostudy as one of the 10 most popular subdivisions being built in Middle Tennessee. Eventually, the community will feature 1,046 homes.
Since its inception in 2004, the Middle Tennessee St. Jude Dream Home campaign has become one of the leading ones in the country, raising more than $11 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The focal point of the campaign is the home being built and donated by Hillside Homes and built on a lot donated by Randall and Sadie Baskin and Randall “Rafe” Baskin III. Valued at approximately $580,000, the 4,000 sq. ft. home features a four bedrooms, three full baths and two half baths. The European-themed home includes a barrel vaulted ceiling, iron entry doors, and hand-scraped hardwood flooring.
Major construction sponsors are 84 Lumber, Alley-Cassetty, Ferguson Lighting, Kitchen & Bath, Kustom Home Entertainment, Smokey Mountain Tops, Wellborn Forest Cabinets, C&S Inc., DEC, and Creative Stone.
Tickets are being sold for $100 each and ticket buyers will also have a chance to win some 20 additional prizes, including gift cards and more. Prizes include a $1,000 American Express gift card, courtesy of All My Sons Moving & Storage, $5,000 in moving expenses for the winner of the dream home courtesy of APEX moving and storage,a one-year membership at Releéve One Fitness Studios, and a $1,500 gift certificate at Lucchese Boots.
Those who reserve a ticket by April 12 are eligible for the early bird drawing for a $2,500 American Express gift card courtesy of Mid-State Title and Escrow. Those who tour the home and sign up are eligible to win a $5,000 shopping spree at American Signature Furniture.
All proceeds from the St. Jude Dream Home campaign go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
This year’s honorary St. Jude Dream Home patient is Ty, who lives in the Nashville area. He is now cancer free. A former St. Jude patient, he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
