St. Jude Dream Home 2011 Open For Tours
With the giveaway of the 2011 St. Jude Dream Home in Nashville’s Westhaven neighborhood scheduled for June 26, weekend open house hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and noon-5 p.m. Sundays through June 19. Daily open house hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. from June 20-25.
This year’s home is located across from the Westhaven’s elementary school at 1812 Townsend Blvd. Valued at approximately $550,000, the home features 3,222 square feet with 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, an open family room and kitchen area, a formal dining room, an office/study area, a bonus room, a child’s study, a two-car garage, front and rear covered porches, and a private courtyard.
Tickets are being sold for $100 each and ticket buyers will also have a chance to win additional prizes, ranging from a front-loading washer and dryer to a couple of $1,000 gift cards. Visitors to the St. Jude Dream Home may sign up free to win a $5,000 furniture shopping spree from American Signature Furniture. All proceeds from the St. Jude Dream Home campaign go to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Since its inception in 2004, the Middle Tennessee St. Jude Dream Home campaign has become one of the leading ones in the country, raising more than $8.5 million for the Memphis hospital for children. In 2007, Southern Land Company Homebuilding was named St. Jude Builder of the Year.
Exterior features include Superior Highland Slate Shingles from Certainteed and custom designed exterior elevation with a brick veneer from Boral Brick. Also included in the home are energy efficient Low-E windows from Windsor Windows and MiTechShield Radiant Barrier roof sheathing from LP Building Products.
In addition to sand-and-finish hardwoods throughout most of the main floor, the home features a custom designed kitchen with painted cabinets from Franklin Kitchen Center and Wellborn Forest. The stainless appliances are from KitchenAid and include a six-burner commercial style gas cooktop, convection microwave and oven combination, and a counter-depth Architect Series refrigerator, all provided by Ferguson Enterprises.
Upgraded granite countertops in the kitchen and marble countertops in the master bath retreat are from Intellistone, while the faucets are from Moen, including the Moen Aberdeen faucet in the kitchen. Elegant tile and stylish carpet in the bathrooms and bedrooms are from Metro Carpets. A designer-selected lighting package from Ferguson Lighting Showroom brightens the home, while interior window treatments are from Great Looks Premier Blinds and Shutters. Interiors and exteriors feature exclusive paint colors from PPG/Porter Paints.
