Clarksville Parade of Homes 2012

clarksville_parade_2012In what has become a highly anticipated event, the Clarksville Montgomery County Home Builders Association is presenting its annual Parade of Homes from September 27 to 30.

With interest rates at an all-time low and the housing affordability index unbelievably high, now is a great time to look at new homes, according to Karen Blick, spokesperson for the association.

This year’s tour will feature 20  homes built by members of the Clarksville Montgomery County Home Builders Association.  Included in the tour for the first time will be a condominium and an Energy Star Certified home.

Visitors can view these “Dream Homes” during special hours by buying a $5.00 ticket at area financial institutions or at the homes during the event.

Some 50 percent of the ticket sales will benefit the Clarksville Montgomery County School System New Technology Rooms.

Homes will be located in a variety of areas and subdivisions throughout the county.
Blick says that a surveys from last year’s visitors indicate that many people gathered decorating and remodeling ideas from visiting the homes.  Builders are allowed to fully stage one room with furniture and accessories. Participating homes will be judged prior to the Parade of Homes with winners determined in numerous categories including “Best Master Suite.” “Best Kitchen,” and “Best Landscaping.”  Visitors to the homes will vote for one winner of the  “People’s Choice” award.

Blick also reports that real estate agents and mortgage lenders will be on hand to answer questions from visitors who may be interested in discussing real estate pricing or loan applications.
Hours are from 5 p.m.-8 p.m.  Thursday and Friday, and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $5 per person, and will be sold at local banks and at each home. Tickets for a bus tour on Thursday are available for $20.

A map to the 20 or so homes will be available online beginning on September 23.
