Shopping Lebanon

Lebanon offers something for all home decorators, whether it’s antiques, accessories, fabric, or lighting and appliances.

Exit I-40 East on US 231 heading north toward downtown Lebanon and turn right on Short Street for a stop at the Lebanon Antique Mall and General Store. In addition to the charm of an old-fashioned general store, the shop houses numerous rooms of antiques and collectibles in charmingly arranged thematic groupings.

Lebanon-_Antique_Glade_0511Right around the corner back on Cumberland Street (US 231) lies Gypsy Rose Antiques where you’ll find a variety of antiques and collectibles, including furnishings and decorative items such as Fiesta ware.

Next door is As the Crow Flies, which specializes in some interesting primitive items as well as seasonally-dictated themes. If you like the country flavor don’t miss this fascinating shop.

Backtrack south on Cumberland Street to a right turn on Short Street and a right turn on Maple takes you to Adams Frame Shop, where you’ll find quite a number of elegant frames in standard sizes, mouldings, oil paintings, and prints.

Take Maple Street to a right turn on Main Street and turn right onto Public Square, parking as soon as you turn the corner in front of The
Papermill, which offers a variety of paper products as well as small home decor items such as photo frames you won’t want to miss.

At this point you can leave the car parked or move it further along Public Square or, if it’s a busy day, park in the center of the square and walk the square. Drivers in Lebanon follow traffic rules almost religiously, so as long as you stick to the marked crosswalks you’ll find people stopping to yield to pedestrians.

Cuz’s Antique Center remains the colorful focal point of the square, with antiques imported from around the world with containers arriving
regularly. Cuz’s is also home of Fightin' Rooster Knives and Lebanon Wholesale Jewelers.

At the Screen Door Antiques you’ll find a store filled to the brim with hand picked antiques, consignment pieces, and even new giftware and hand-crafted items, as well as Fostoria Heirloom pieces.

Lebanon_Antique_Mall_0511For antique furniture, Southern Rose Antiques can’t be missed.  Home to some very special antique finds, the Southern Rose specializes in larger pieces, rugs, and more.

Almost next door at Michael’s Cover Up you’ll find a friendly fabric store interested in helping you find the perfect fabrics and decorating solutions. Upon entering you’ll be greeted by Wally the gentle giant shop dog. The store offers designer drapery and upholstery fabrics, trim, and supplies. Services include custom draperies, bedding, pillows, shutters and shades, and reupholstery services.

One of Lebanon’s favorite shops is Butter Churn Antiques which houses a variety of furnishings, decorator accessories, and collectibles, including colorful Fiesta pieces in shades such as plum and lemon.

Just down the block, the Downtown Antique Mall is packed, upstairs and down, with every conceivable type of antique, from large furnishings to collectibles and more. If you’re looking for authentic period pieces such as an 1847 Wooten desk or fabulous antique bed, this may be the perfect spot to find it.

When you’ve exhausted the possibilities on the Public Square, you can take Main Street east to Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery where you’ll find plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures and accents, and everything you need to put together the bathroom or kitchen of your dreams.

Taking Main Street further east to its intersection to High Street makes it easy to backtrack on High Street to Wholesale Supply Group which has an attractive showroom and some excellent pricing on plumbing and lighting fixtures.

Follow High Street west to its intersection with Cumberland Street/US 231, turn left and head back to the public square. Turn right on Main Street and a couple blocks later you’ll find Cox’s Gifts & Jewelry on the left. This shop has something for everyone—fine jewelry, home decor, baby items, fine china, crystal, pewter, and more. It’s a beautiful store with rooms full of accessories.

A few blocks further west on Main Street, Smith’s Furniture Galleria offers a showroom featuring major furniture manufacturer’s lines, as well as free decorating services and delivery within a 100 mile radius. Also available here are in-home consultation, furniture layout ideas, and advice on selecting furniture, fabrics, accessories, paint colors, and more.

With four locations in Middle Tennessee and an operation in business since 1896, D.T. McCall and Sons has a wide array of furniture brands available for free delivery within 125 miles of the company’s Carthage location. In Lebanon you’ll find a broad range of upholstered furniture, dining room and bedroom furniture, and the newest in Electrolux Icon kitchen appliances.

A few blocks further west on Main Street, S.S. Graham offers florals and interior furnishings for those with the most sophisticated taste.
If you’re lucky, the resident dachshund puppy will be on duty during your visit.

A little further west on Main, Gifts on Main and Monograms Plus share a large space and offer so much—home accessories, garden decor,
lamps, and more, as well as a huge selection of decor and more for children from infancy to tween. Toys, bedding, jewelry, and more can
be found here.

For a look at the latest appliances, Lebanon Appliance just a few more stores further west offers a wide range of choices. You’ll find brands ranging from Whirlpool and Kitchen-Aid to Jen-Air and Maytag.

And just a bit further west, Thomas Kitchens & Baths’ showroom offers a look at cabinet and countertop selections for kitchens and baths, and the expertise to help design a look for any personal preference, traditional to contemporary. Whether you’re interested in an air tub in a remodeled bath or a complete kitchen in new construction, Thomas Kitchens & Baths can help.

Last stop for this day trip, is West Main Garden Center, about 2 miles out West Main, which officially becomes Lebanon Road as it heads toward Mt. Juliet.

In business for 14 years, West Main Garden Center is a full-service garden center and nursery with 2.5 acres of plants and green houses.
You’ll find a full variety of container trees and evergreen trees as well as flowering and evergreen shrubs. Specializing in water gardening and ponds, the facility has a full scale water gardening center and offers landscaping and irrigation installation and design.
You’ll also find gift items, pottery, fountains, bulbs, and more.
