Mt. Juliet lies on the western edge of Wilson County, easily reached via Interstate 40 or the 840 By-pass. You might want to drive the big SUV or a pickup truck, as you’re sure to find some have-to-have large pieces of furniture or some plants you’ll want to take home with you.
From I-40 take exit 226 on Mt. Juliet Road and turn south toward the community’s New Providence Marketplace. Turn left at Adams Lane and
find House of Carpet’s Mt. Juliet showroom, a wonderful showroom of rugs, carpet, hardwoods, laminate, and tile for floors or walls. For a look at the newest in carpet materials and styles, or some fabulous glass tile for the kitchen or bath, this is the place to see your choices combined with other materials and colors which makes decision  making so easy.

On the other side of I-40, it’s only a couple of block or so, just past Parkwood Court, to Ponds by David on the right. Here you’ll find, in addition to a wide range of outdoor structures ranging from swings to arbors and pergolas, koi for your decorative pond or water feature you’re planning. The staff will be glad to help you with planning for a project and with its installation as well.

About a mile on the right lies Anderson’s Amish Furniture in a shopping center location. The store features furniture ranging from rockers to traditional tables and chairs to Mission style pieces, all made by Amish craftsmen. The owners of Anderson’s Amish Furniture have spent many years as friends and neighbors of these craftsmen and are able to select the finest pieces for sale at prices that reflect the lower operating cost of the Amish community. Products are 100 percent hardwood construction heirloom quality with wood grain matching. Custom built furniture is available.

Further north on Mt. Juliet Road, look for Industrial Drive and make a right turn. Not even a block off the main street lies Furniture
Unlimited, a hidden treasure. With furniture, rugs, lamps, and more, this store offers merchandise off the floor as well as special order items. From fine wood tables to leather upholstered pieces, this store is a find.

Back on Mt Juliet Road, look on the left for Dot and Stell’s, a local institution offering home decor items, outdoor furnishings, and gift items of all kinds. Explore the old home’s spacious rooms, say hello to the shop cat, Stell, and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere.
Carrying an extensive line of home, patio, lawn, and garden items such as cast aluminum and wicker outdoor furniture by Summer Classics and upholstered furniture by Johnston Benchworks, the store also offers Willow Tree collectibles, unique frames, and more. Home decor items include vases, dishes, utensil holders, hand towels, cookie jars, snack jars, and multiple kitchen items.  Monogramming is available on-site as well as complimentary gift wrapping.

Proceed to the intersection of Mt. Juliet Road and Lebanon Road (Highway 70) where Mt. Juliet Furniture recently opened in the shopping center. From appliances to dining tables and upholstered pieces, this store offers a range of furnishings that include decorative tables, consoles, and more. The store also features a wide range of mattresses in varying price ranges.

You’ll find Baggatta’s Nursery Outlet about half a mile west on Lebanon Road, on the right. Shrouded in shade from old trees, the lush green seems contagious. Baggatta’s offers a wide range of shrubs and trees in a range of sizes at very competitive prices. If you’re seeking a sizable Japanese maple or decorative crape myrtle, this is the place to check.

A couple of blocks west lies Clarrienne’s Treasures, a sprawling collection of rooms containing antiques and collectibles ranging from baker’s racks and kitchen islands to dining tables and chairs.

Clairrene Hale often buys wooden pieces and paints them, so you’ll probably find lots of freshly painted wood furniture. You’ll find glassware, mirrors, beds, picture frames, and more here.

Back on Lebanon Road, it’s only a couple blocks to Moss’ Florist & Garden Center on the left. Moss’ is Mt. Juliet’s go-to store for gifts, small furnishings, and home decor items, as well as floral arrangements, picture frames, and more. Moss’ also offers lawn and garden supplies, tools, and nursery plants ranging from trees and shrubs to annuals and perennials. Family-owned and operated, this enterprise was founded in 1952 and offers workshops and classes throughout the year, including the upcoming Canning College for Beginners, scheduled July 20 and July 27.

Another few blocks further west is Needham’s Nursery, another family owned operation in business since 1988. Situated on 4.5 acres, Needham’s offers trees, shrubs, annuals, and perennials, as well as mulches, soils,  gravels, and sand. These folks are so friendly they jokingly say their plants are free—“a gift from God just like our lives and the air we breathe. The only thing we charge you for is the container and the tags!”

On the outer western edge of Mt. Juliet lies Howard Rawlings Antiques. Noted for its fine imported French and English antique furniture, this store also offers vintage jewelry, gifts and collectibles, china, pottery, and glassware. Features include pre-Civil War and 1800’s antiques, as well as separate flea market and dealer’s areas. Check the basement and the second floor for finds of all kinds.
