Hendersonville always beckons home designers and decorators as it offers everything from antiques and treasures to furnishings, flooring, and tile.

To reach the heart of Hendersonville, exit I-65 North at the Vietnam Veteran’s exit and exit with a right turn on New Shackle Island Road. After about 1.5 miles, turn left on Volunteer Drive and then right on Tennessee Way to find Hickory Home Hardware. There you’ll find a large assortment of quality door, cabinet, security, builders, and floor protection hardware.
A left turn back onto New Shackle Island Road takes you quickly to a shopping center on the right. Hendersonville Winnelson a leading distributor of plumbing supplies. You’ll find tubs, sinks, faucets, and more for new construction or a remodeling project.
Practically next door, Tile & Stone Design which presents a wide range of quality tile & stone products as well as offers free design services. You’ll find everything from glass and ceramic tile to natural stone and floor heating products.
On the east side of the parking lot, Industrial Park Drive circles behind the shopping center to Elite Countertop Products. Founded in 1998, Elite was the first granite fabrication facility in Sumner County and today produces countertop products of natural and engineered stone countertops for kitchens, baths, and outdoor kitchens. The 4,000 square foot showroom is backed by the 20,000 square foot fabrication facility.
Return to New Shackle Island Road and head west to its intersection with Main Street/Gallatin Road. Turn left and proceed to Lynn’s Patio Shop, a Hendersonville tradition founded in 1978. The 11,000 square foot showroom features old world and contemporary furnishings for outdoor spaces as well as sunrooms and other indoor rooms. You’ll find furniture made of weather proof wicker, aluminum, wrought iron, and other materials as well cushions and umbrellas in a broad range of colors.
Further west on Main Street, Kitchen Tuneup lies on the left side, just before Stadium Drive on the right. Kitchen Tuneup’s Kitchen Design Center offers a variety of products and services kitchen and bathroom remodeling. Offering an array of services from a basic kitchen "tune-up" to a total transformation, this store can provide cabinets for all budgets.
Proceed east on Main Street to make a right on Stadium Drive, where Metal & Petals resides in a small older home. Featuring both trendy and classic home decor, wrought iron furnishings, and decor pieces for the home and garden. Metal & Petals also offers select furniture pieces, concrete statuary, fountains, and perennial flowers in season.
Across the street, find Ta-Dah Design where you’ll find decorator fabrics and trim, as well as some home furnishings and accessories. Ta-Dah Design is a comprehensive design center that includes a retail showroom with fabrication services.
Although not open when this shopping trip was made, a consignment furniture store was scheduled to open next to Ta-Dah.
Return to Main Street, and go two blocks further to turn right onto Shivel Drive, where you’ll find The Finder’s Nest, This mellow, cozy house is full of art, vintage pieces, clothing, jewelry, candles, linens, and handmade crafts. Reasonably priced, the items include the unique and a nice mix of shabby chic items.
Proceed about 0.3 miles east to Decorator’s Fabrics on the right. Here you’ll find discounted decorator fabrics by the bolt as well as a decorator trim, some draperies, and a smattering of consignment furnishings.
Next door, Miss Ellaneous sports a black and white awning and shelters a collection of dealers featuring antique and vintage furnishings, as well as art and other finds.
In the adjacent shopping center, you’ll find All About Art in its new location. Specializing in custom design and framing, this shop also features original oils, decorative prints, and gift items and accessories.
Adjoining All About Art is Essence Lighting in its own new space featuring a huge selection of lamps, chandeliers, fans, exterior lighting, mirrors, art, and more. The showroom features traditional, contemporary, Mediterranean, French Country, and eclectic styles suitable for new construction or to give an existing room a new look.
Back on Main Street, head east to turn right on Walton Ferry Road. In the first shopping center on the left you’ll find Rugs by Jafar, Hendersonville’s oriental rug dealer. Jafar offers a wide range of rugs as well as a variety of services, including delivery, in-home design help, oriental rug cleaning and repair, and more.
About one mile further east on Main Street will take you to Indian Lake Blvd. Turn right and then left into the shopping center to find Then & Again, a home market store featuring vintage furniture. In addition the store stocks Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and plenty of pieces created with this amazing paint.
Return to Main Street, and proceed another 0.8 miles to Bonita Parkway. Turn right and you’ll find Patricia Jane & Co. in the charming home located where the road splits. Born in 2001, this store is owned and operated by Patricia Rudy-Woods and her daughter Tricia Woods Ramsey with the help of their aunt, Jane Greenway. It’s a one-of-a-kind store featuring gifts and friendly people. You’ll find home decor, florals, bridal and children’s registries,  gifts, jewelry, and a large room of Vera Bradley items.
Return to Main Street and turn left. Go about 0.4 miles to turn right on Anderson Lane. You’ll find Baylor Bone Interiors approximately 0.7 miles further on Anderson Lane. If you reach Indian Lake Blvd, you’ve gone too far. Owned by Baylor Bone and Gail Hancock, this shop is exactly what you’d expect from a space featuring furnishings, accessories, and art selected by award-winning interior designers whose work has graced show homes for more than 20 years. Noted for a unique sense of color and eclectic array of furnishings and accessories, Baylor Bone Interiors creates imaginative surroundings.
