lawn & garden show 2010
The 21st Annual Nashville Lawn & Garden Show is scheduled March 4-7 and will celebrate the beauty created when natural and manmade artistry are combined in gardens. Staged to the theme, Artistic by Nature, this year’s show promises to offer inspiration, ideas, and information for gardeners and garden lovers. The Nashville Lawn and Garden Show is Tennessee’s premier horticultural event and one of the largest gardening shows in the South. Produced by the Horticultural Association of Tennessee, the annual event is staged at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.
“This year’s theme, Artistic by Nature, will allow the gardeners to showcase their creative talents in many ways,” says Randall Lantz, co-manager of the Nashville Lawn & Garden Show. Some gardens may be inspired by the garden paintings of famous artists while other gardens will incorporate artistic designs in stonework, fire pits, fountains and structures. More than 20 outstanding live gardens will be created by professional landscape designers. In addition to thousands of flowers and plants, most of the gardens include water features, ranging from small fountains to large waterfalls, and elaborate structures such as rock walls, terraces, pergolas and gazebos.
A series of 20 free lectures is presented throughout the four-day show by expert horticulturists and garden designers. The show also includes 250 exhibit booths of horticultural products, services, and equipment for show and sale. All events are indoors and there is ample free parking. Tickets may be purchased on-line through the show’s website beginning February 1. For more information, call 615/ 876-7680 or visit www.nashvillelawnandgardenshow.com.
