Tis the Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville—scheduled February 11-13 at the Nashville Convention Center—is getting a makeover this year. The 21st annual show—themed “Elements”—will showcase new takes on design alongside more traditional antiques. The event will bring together internationally renowned experts and more than 150 exhibitors in the fields of antiques, decorative arts, and horticulture, amidst spectacular landscaped gardens.

Several exhibition gardens will be designed and implemented by Nashville’s leading landscape professionals to showcase the theme of this year’s show.

The largest show of its kind in the nation, The Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville is updating its look to reflect current design trends, welcoming new and old exhibitors and continuing to attract top-notch attendees from around the country. After joining Faith Hill at the 2010 show, actress Gwyneth Paltrow praised the event on her popular blog “GOOP,” recommending that visitors check out the vast collection of quality pieces.

“Gwyneth Paltrow’s interest in the Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville is proof that today’s generation loves antiques,” says Betsy Wilt, co-chair of this year’s show. “We are thrilled to feature fresh designs this year, alongside our classic pieces, offering a wide variety of elements that appeal to everyone.”

In addition to amazing contemporary and classic items for sale, the 2011 Antiques and Garden Show lecture series will feature world-class lecturers, including Charlottte Moss and Sarah Champier.

Moss is a New York-based interior designer recognized for her signature style, elegance, and luxurious decorations. The author of seven books, Moss has designed collections of china, fabric, carpet, decorative accessories, and home fragrances.

Personal florist to Prince Charles, Champier has designed countless beautiful floral displays for royalty for more than a decade, creating unique arrangements for many extraordinary events.

In addition, two on-the-floor complimentary lectures with questions and book signing are scheduled with Alexa Hampton and Cathy Whitlock.
Hampton—interior designer and author of “The Language of Interiors,” is scheduled for a complimenary  lecture at 11 a.m. on Saturday.  Whitlock—interior designer and author of “Designs on Film, A Century of Hollywood Art Design,” is scheduled for a complimentary lecture at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

“We are delighted to welcome to the Antiques and Garden Show our superb lecturers who are leading voices in what’s hot in home, garden, and floral design,” saya Kathy Rolfe, co-chair of the this year’s show. “This event attracts thousands of attendees of all ages each year, and we want to inspire people to transform their living spaces.”

Horticulture booths feature architectural elements for the house and garden, exquisite garden related furnishings, orchids, unusual plant material, and whimsical accessories for the home.
