Nashville’s 25th Annual Home Decorating & Remodeling Show is scheduled September 11-13 at the Nashville Convention Center. Vandy Richards, show manager, says this year’s show will offer the latest home design trends, color choices, furnishings, and technology available. More than 300 exhibitors in more than 650 booths will make this what Richards says is the largest home show in the state. Reflecting the growing interest in environmentally friendly aspects of home design, this year’s show offers a host of energy efficient and eco-friendly products and services ranging from windmills and photovoltaic cells to insulation, recycled materials, and more. In addition, the Home Decorating & Remodeling Show offers the materials, appliances, ideas, and service providers necessary to make a home a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and functional as well as beautiful. This year’s visitors will see marble and granite countertops, sunrooms, cabinets, appliances, home decor and furnishings, custom draperies, solid surface countertops, log cabins, fireplaces, grills, windows, doors, and siding. Cast Designs is reported to be the premier designer, manufacturer, and installer of ornamental architectural products in the Southeast United States. See the jaw-dropping architectural products. Several local faux artists will make unscheduled appearances to discuss their techniques. Cellar Maker offers complete wine storage services including design, build, taste profile, and cellar management. Their custom wine racks are handcrafted and furniture-grade finished.
Chateau de Renaissance features a new line of handcrafted iron doors and gates inspired by the timeless period of renaissance architecture. The company’s custom products are made in Mexico the old fashioned way, one at a time.

Concrete Mystique Engraving transforms gray concrete into custom designs by engraving personalized designs to suit a client’s wishes. Work includes geometric patterns, natural elements, logos, simulated stone, tile patterns, contemporary compositions, and custom designs. The company works on existing concrete and pours concrete pads and overlay.
The Curtain Exchange offers custom made curtains, bedding, shades, shutters and washable shades with quick turnaround. Copeland & Son provides services “beyond the box.” Copeland & Son offers a new program called Season Calculated Operational Running Efficiency that measures the true installed operating efficiency of a system and compares that documentation to the manufacturer’s efficiency rating. Copeland reports tests indicate some systems are as low as 30 percent efficiency compared to the 100 percent shown on manufacturer’s ratings. If, for example, a homeowner purchases a 14 SEER system that, after installation only tests as a 7 SEER unit, the unit is only operating at 50 percent efficiency. In addition, Copeland will demonstrate possible dangers of carbon monoxide from a standard hot water heater and a product capable of destroying airborn bacteria, mold, viruses, and biological and chemical contaminants passing through it.
Culligan of Greater Nashville will feature the Aqua Clear Reverse Osmosis drinking water system, a solution to the high price of bottled water according to Keny Snyder. Culligan staff will be offering free water analysis and water taste tests.
Decorating Den, in addition to being able to find the perfect sofa for its clients, offers home service in which a consultant brings product samples and offers home consultation for decorating. Set up a complimentary in-home consultation while you’re in the booth.

DSA Master Crafted Doors offers a new folding exterior door line (Tru Vue) that allows a homeowner to open a home’s walls (8 ft., 12 ft., and16 ft.) to the outside.
ECO NRG Alternatives features pellet stoves, wood stoves, electric fireplaces, and is introducing its chimney cleaning and installation services. Energy efficient wood and pellet stoves are eligible for federal tax credits.
Elegant Outdoors of Nashville is introducing the Spaberry, a two-person portable spa, which Laura Tanti reports is the “new home appliance of the 21st Century.” See it in full operation with bubbling jets, vibrant colors, soothing waterfall, and colorful LED lighting.
Elite Installation Design offers granite and marble solutions created with photo digital layout, laser templating, CNS edging, and precision water jet cutting. Fire Pit Art features custom made iron firepits by artisan Rick Wittrig. He says his firepits are the “best looking, longest lasting firepits in the world,” and are “art you can use.”
Flatsafe Tornado Shelters, in the UBuildIt booth, offers white fiberglass eight-person and galvanized metal eight-person models available for below-ground installation. These are the only tornado shelters at the show approved by the National Storm Shelters Association and approved by FEMA. They feature the only single-lid design that passively ventilates and not fail during a tornado.
